Cisco provides 6 certifications paths specializing in different areas. There is overlap with the paths, you are welcomed and even encouraged to take multiple paths.

Entry level certifications designed to introduce people to networking and Routing with cisco.
[edit] Profesional Level Certifications
Professional level certification provide a good knowlage of the subject to pass. They require that you must first pass the associate level certification(s) first before taking the tests.
All these certs are multiple tests.
- CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Profesional
- CCDP - Cisco Certified Design Profesional
- CCIP - Cisco Certified Internetwork Profesional
- CCVP - Cisco Certified Voice Profesional
- CCSP - Cisco Certified Security Professional

CCIE level certifications are the highest obtainable from Cisco and one of the most respected in the industry
